VERSAILLES

After breakfast, some of the tour members left for the airport and a few stayed behind to spend more time in Paris or to go to Versailles.

We took the RER and traveled about 12 miles to Versailles, King Louis XIV' palace, now a showcase of France. The RER is a transportation system similar to the Metro. With Jason and Emily, I was more confident in taking the metro. The secret to avoiding the long line at the entrance to Chateau at Versailles is to buy the "Le Passport" at the RER train station. The Le Passport costs E25 and not only good at Versailles but at other museums as well.

After arriving at Versailles and having separated from Jason and the group, Ron and I toured Versailles, the palace and the gardens, and came back to the hotel without any problem, making sure that we got off at Pont de L'Alma.
